BJP’s divisions fire Manipur again: Congress 2023

The requests that have been presented by Congress include the establishment of a high-level investigation committee, which must be led by an active or retired member of the Supreme Court.

On Tuesday, a delegation that was led by the president of the Congress party, Mallikarjun Kharge, sent a memorandum to President Droupadi Murmu in which they demanded that ‘strong and persistent measures’ be made to quell the violence in Manipur and restore normality in the state.

The party has presented a total of 12 requests, one of which is the establishment of a high-level investigation committee, to be led by an active or retired judge from the Supreme Court.

Congress blames the BJP’s polarizing politics for the renewed violence in Manipur.

This comes in the midst of Home Minister Amit Shah’s tour to the state, which has been rocked hard by violence.

Shortly afterward, during a news conference, Congress general secretary in-charge Communications Jairam Ramesh lashed out at the BJP-led government, stating that its “divisive politics” had “burned Manipur in 2001 and is burning the state again in 2023.” Jairam Ramesh was referring to the fact that the BJP-led government is now in power.
